SolarDuck Launches First Floating Solar Panel Platform

SolarDuck, a Dutch renewable energy start-up, has launched the first floating solar energy project last week. The project, called the Demonstrator, consists of four triangular platforms covered with solar panels, which rest on floaters. This Demonstrator floats at IJzendoorn (NL), and delivers energy to the grid.

Further Emission Cuts from the Troll Field

Once Troll Vest in the North Sea is hooked up to receive electric power through cables from shore in 2026 (Troll B partial, Troll C complete), this will result in emission cuts of 466,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year, according to statements by operator Equinor in a new plan for development and operation (PDO), submitted Friday.

Hywind Tampen project is now moving from Stord to the deep-water site at Dommersnes where the concrete slipforming of the spar-substructures will be completed. This is the first concrete slipforming for an offshore project on the Norwegian continental shelf since the Troll A platform was delivered in 1995.

CGG has signed a strategic agreement to support dCarbonX in the subsurface assessment of its operated clean energy projects offshore Ireland and the UK (which include geothermal energy and storage sites for CO2, hydrogen and ammonia).
