Through a collaboration agreement, Equinor and Vårgrønn, a Norwegian renewable energy company established by HitecVision and Eni, aim to jointly prepare and submit an application to the Norwegian authorities to develop floating offshore wind at Utsira Nord west off Utsira and Haugalandet in the Norwegian North Sea.

Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has announced that Equinor and Polenergia’s Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III projects were awarded contracts for difference (CfD) under the first phase of Poland’s offshore wind development scheme. The projects, with a combined potential capacity of 1440 MW, are among the first to secure offshore wind awards in Poland.
Floating Power Plant (FPP) has secured €17,65m in R&D tax credits for an offshore floating wind and wave project at PLOCAN off the coast of the Canary Islands. This will help finance the demonstrator project currently in development.
SolarDuck, a Dutch renewable energy start-up, has launched the first floating solar energy project last week. The project, called the Demonstrator, consists of four triangular platforms covered with solar panels, which rest on floaters. This Demonstrator floats at IJzendoorn (NL), and delivers energy to the grid.
