An advanced, 60 cm marine satellite antenna system designed to consistently deliver the fastest data speeds globally to the maritime market was unveiled by KVH Industries, Inc. at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, in Florida.

Orange Business Services and BlueTide Communications are collaborating to deliver comprehensive maritime communications, reaching almost every sea and ocean around the world. The combination of Orange’s global satellite network with BlueTide’s specialized maritime solutions will power the navigation, cybersecurity, voice and video, corporate applications, and asset management for vessels in the work-boat industry.

KVH Industries, Inc., announced the launch of its next-generation, advanced maritime broadband network, joined by service partner, Intelsat S.A. Slated for commercial availability next month, KVH’s high-speed overlay to its current mini-VSAT BroadbandSM service is expected to triple, and in some cases increase by a multiple of six, the data speeds for its maritime customers.

IOX Cable Ltd and Alcatel Submarine Networks, part of Nokia, have commenced work for cable route survey for the IOX Cable System, which will span more than 8,850 kilometers.

Crews aboard the Alcatel Submarine Networks’ C/V Ile de Batz installed the last segment of cable beneath the ocean floor, completing physical installation of the Alaska portion of the international Quintillion Subsea Cable System. The system is on schedule to be in service this December, enabling 21st Century communications in the North American Arctic for the first time.
