The acquisition adds to Acteon’s capability in the mooring and installation market. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has announced the denial of six pending geophysical and geological (G&G) permit applications to conduct airgun seismic surveys in the Mid- and South Atlantic Planning Areas of the Atlantic Ocean. The decision is based on a number of factors, including a diminished need for additional seismic survey information because the Atlantic Program Area has been removed from the 2017-2022 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program.

Greensea, creator of OPENSEATM, the universal marine industry operating platform, has recently announced the appointment of Heath Hescock as Robotics Engineer. Prior to joining Greensea, Heath automated software functions through programming at Globalfoundaries, a world leader in semiconductor production. He earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont, a B.A. degree from Vermont Technical College, and is also a skilled carpenter.
NRC announces the establishment of its strategic Tier 2 oil spill response base in the Bay of Campeche region of Mexico. Driven by new shallow and deepwater drilling developments in Mexico, NRC’s robust Tier 2 base will support NRC Exploration and Production (E&P) clients now operating in Mexico’s Bay of Campeche. NRC’s base is located in Paraíso, near the Port of Dos Bocas in the coastal state of Tabasco, Mexico.
Through a competitive tender process, The Finnish Transport Agency Liikennevirasto (FTA), who is responsible for Hydrography in Finland, has selected Teledyne CARIS™ to provide a new bathymetric data management system. This will be a fundamental part of FTA’s infrastructure to manage existing bathymetry, as well as managing and validating incoming bathymetric surveys provided by external contractors.
