STR Announces Agreement With Intertial Labs to Supply their Innovative Motion Reference Systems

Subsea Technology & Rentals Ltd (STR), a global specialists in the design, manufacture and rental of advanced subsea technology for the offshore energy industry announces a partnership agreement with USA based Inertial Labs to distribute their innovative motion reference systems. Inertial Labs’ newest product, the Motion Reference Unit (MRU-B2), along with their Enhanced Motion Reference Unit (MRU-E) and (MRU-P) professional model will be the latest products to join STR’s expanding rental pool.

Brazilian Navy League Awards Highest Honor to AUV UXO Team that Discovered WWII Submarine

Tim Taylor of Tiburon Subsea and Christine Dennison of OceanOutreach.org have been awarded the Brazilian Navy League Medal of Honor, “Grande Benemérito do Parimõnio Marítimo”, for their exploration, discovery and dedication to preserving the legacy of the lost WWII Submarine R-12 and her 42 entombed sailors. They were presented with the leagues highest honor at a private reception at the Explorers Club in New York City October 14th.

‘Ocean Science Centre Mindelo’ Takes Shape

After 20 months of construction, the cooperation partners GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel and the Instituto Nacional de Desenvolvimento das Pescas in Mindelo (INDP), together with the Cabo Verdean planning office SPL/DARQ and the construction company SGL have reason for a moment of pride. The shell of the “Ocean Science Centre Mindelo" has been successfully completed and the project is now entering the second phase, the technical equipping of the Centre. The completion of building activities is expected for the first quarter of 2017.

Subsea IMR provider, N-Sea, and BODAC UXO have announced an agreement to jointly market and execute marine UXO Survey, Identification and Removal projects across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia. In doing so, they will have the capability to offer developers, contractors and operators of offshore windfarms a complete suite of UXO solutions.
