NEC Corporation has delivered a submarine cable seismic and tsunami  observation system to Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau (CWB) under the  Ministry of Transportation and Communications. This project is based  on a contract between NEC Taiwan and the CWB. 

JDR, a global subsea umbilical supplier and servicer, owned by TFKable Group, has been awarded a contract with UMD Energy to manufacture and supply a 2.7km long subsea production umbilical for the Ledang Redevelopment Segment 2 project, offshore Malaysia.

The answer is that both can cause torsion, meaning the climbing rope or cable will start to twist. Up until now, no one could explain why this happened. However, two enthusiastic researchers, who happen to be rock climbers made it their business to solve the mystery.

Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation has been awarded a contract by Torgy LNG AS to provide 190 integrated cable protection systems for Jiangsu Qidong offshore wind farm project, located in Jiangsu, China. Van Oord has ordered a next-generation custom-built green cable-laying vessel. The vessel will be delivered from VARD in Norway and equipped with the latest sustainable technologies. The vessel will be fully operational in 2023.

NEC Corporation India (NEC India) has successfully completed the flagship optical submarine cable system connecting Chennai, India and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands (A&N Islands) for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a Government of India Enterprise. NEC Corporation (NEC, TSE: 6701), the parent company of NEC India, manufactured the optical submarine cable and provided technical assistance during the turnkey implementation.

In an interconnected world moving towards green energy the uptime of power cable systems is essential for efficient and secure transmission. NKT has entered into a service agreement for a part of the NordBalt interconnector ensuring fast mobilization in case of damages to the power cable connecting the power grids of Sweden and Lithuania.

Jan De Nul Group signed on 4 December 2020 an agreement for the purchase of the Offshore Construction and Cable-Lay Vessel Connector from Ocean Yield ASA. This marks a further investment in the offshore installation capacities of the Luxembourg based maritime contractor. The vessel will be officially transferred during the fourth quarter of 2020.

Aqua Comms DAC (“Aqua Comms”), the operator of Ireland’s first dedicated subsea fiber-optic network interconnecting New York, Dublin and London, announces the successful launch of AEC-2 (America Europe Connect-2), the company’s second Trans-Atlantic subsea cable system.

NKT has entered into service agreements with Elia, 50Hertz and Nemo Link with the purpose to ensure efficient integration of energy into the Belgian, UK and German power grid.
