Fincantieri to Build New Hydro-Oceanographic Ship for the Italian Navy Hydrographic Institute

As part of an EU tender for the Defense and Security sector, Fincantieri has signed a contract with the Secretariat General of Defense and the National Armaments Directorate – Naval Armaments Directorate (NAVARM) for the construction of a new Hydro-Oceanographic Ship (NIOM) for the Italian Navy Hydrographic Institute, with delivery scheduled in 2026 at the integrated shipyard in Riva Trigoso-Muggiano.

U.S. Navy Retrieves Artemis I Orion Spacecraft

Amphibious transport dock USS Portland (LPD 27) retrieved the Artemis I Orion spacecraft in coordination with multiple organizations including NASA, U.S. Space Command, fellow U.S. Navy ship Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8), Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC 23), and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit (EODESU) 1, Dec. 11.

Saab Signs Contract for Two Signal Intelligence Ships for Poland

Saab has signed a contract with the Polish State Treasury Armament Agency for design, production and support of two ships for Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) for Poland. The total order value corresponds to approximately EUR 620 million with deliveries planned during 2027. The order is expected to be booked by Saab before year end.
