Unmanned Systems Tested by the Swedish Navy During Exercise

Enforcer III is Saab’s test platform for development of autonomous functions. It is a converted Combat Boat 90, equipped with navigation and communication systems, sensors, cameras and lasers for navigation. The platform was tested in a joint trial between Saab and the Swedish Navy in the southern Baltic Sea.

MAN Energy Solutions Wins Order from Damen Naval for Propulsion Diesel Engines for F126

The Propulsion Diesel Engines for the German Navy’s new 126 class of frigates will be supplied by MAN Energy Solutions. The news was announced during the SMM trade fair in Hamburg that the company has signed a contract with Damen Naval for the delivery of 8 × MAN 32/44CR propulsion engines, two for each of the four contracted frigates. An option exists for two further frigates.

HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Awarded DDG 1002 Combat Systems Availability Contract

Global defense and technologies partner HII (NYSE: HII) announced that its Ingalls Shipbuilding division has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Navy to begin the combat systems availability for the Zumwalt-class destroyer, Lyndon B. Johnson (DDG 1002). During this availability, Ingalls will complete the installation, activation and testing of the combat systems to ensure a fully functional system is ready to operate in the Navy fleet, as part of the Navy’s phased delivery approach.
