DNV Issues New Technical Note to Address Wind Farm Design for Tropical Cyclone Areas

DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, has published a new Technical Note (TN) providing principles for determining site extreme wind speeds for wind farms caused by tropical cyclones. The document is published after an extensive industry collaboration to increase transparency and to reduce uncertainty in the design of wind farms in emerging offshore wind markets such as Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the US.

DNV and LISCR Award AiP to HHI for 40,000 CBM Liquefied CO2 Carrier Design

Classification society DNV and the Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry (LISCR) have awarded an Approval in Principle (AiP) to Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering CO. (KSOE) for a new 40,000 CBM liquified CO2 carrier design. The handover of the AiP certificate took place during the Gastech trade fair in Dubai.

Equinor and Partners to Increase Gas Exports

Equinor and its partners have received permission to increase gas exports from two fields on the Norwegian continental shelf to supply the tight European market. Production permits for the Oseberg and Troll fields have each been increased by 1 billion cubic meters (bcm) for the gas year starting October 1.
