Prysmian Group, a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been awarded a new contract, worth €125 million, for an interconnection between the island of Crete and mainland Greece (Peloponnese region). The project was awarded by IPTO (Independent Power Transmission Operator), which operates the transmission system for Greece’s power grid.

Inmarsat has confirmed that the 5,000th ship installation of Fleet Xpress, the world’s only high-speed, globally-available Ka-band VSAT service designed for mobility and available from a single operator, will be completed by the close of the month.

NKT has successfully commissioned the 220 kV HVAC cable systems for the offshore wind park Walney Extension in the Irish Sea. When fully operational later this year, Walney Extension will become the world’s largest wind farm contributing a significant amount of green electricity to the UK’s energy mix.
