Production Starts at the Trestakk Subsea Feld in the Norwegian Sea

Production from the Trestakk subsea field on Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea started on 16 July. Tied back to the Åsgard A floating production vessel, the field has estimated recoverable resources of 76 million barrels of oil. Field production started on time, below budget and without any serious incidents.

NEMMO Project to Reduce the Cost of Tidal Energy

A new project, which is set to revolutionize tidal turbine blades, has begun developing a state-of-the-art computer model to simulate blade wear and tear. The simulations will be used by the NEMMO (Next Evolution in Materials and Modelling for Ocean energy) project team to deliver a more performant class of turbine blade.

Shetland Decommissioning Facility Recycles North Sea Structures

The Dales Voe decommissioning facility in Shetland is one step closer to becoming a center of excellence for recycling offshore structures from the North Sea with the arrival of two new installations for decommissioning by strategic partners Veolia and Peterson. The structures from Spirit Energy’s ST-1 arrived in the dedicated port facility on 15 July.

ALE Completes Jack-Up and Load-Out of Platform Offshore Russia

ALE has completed the jack-up, skidding and load-out of an offshore platform for the third development stage of the Vladimir Filanovsky oil field, the largest in the Russian section of the Caspian Sea. The field currently produces six million tonnes of crude oil per year.

Equinor and Partners Make Oil Discovery in the Oseberg Area

Equinor has, on behalf of the Oseberg partners, made a profitable oil discovery related to Oseberg Vestflanken. The well was drilled by the Askepott rig and the discovery will soon be put on stream via the new, unmanned and remote-operated H platform on the Oseberg field.
