JW Fishers has been attending DEMA (Diving Equipment & Marketing Association) for over 30 years and 2017 was no exception. This year’s show was held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL and had over 600 exhibitors on the showcase floor. The show attracts industry professionals, police & fire departments, military personnel, industry equipment dealers and diving enthusiasts from across the globe.

MMT is exhibiting at Oceanology International for the 7th time. The event takes place at ExCel in London on the 13-15th of March 2018 and MMT will demonstrate the new version of the fast going survey ROV Surveyor Interceptor, now upgraded for UXO inspections.

Now in its 20th year, and following a highly successful and well-received 2015 event in Amsterdam, this year’s industry-leading Interspill oil spill conference and exhibition is due to be held at the ExCeL in London, running between March 13-15.

During 2017 Riptide Autonomous Solutions delivered an expanding portfolio of offerings including the µUUV®, an “A” sized 4.875” (124mm) diameter UUV; the 1MP One Man Portable 7.5” (190 mm) diameter UUV and the 2 MP Two Man Portable 9.375” (238mm) diameter UUV. To support this growth the company has moved into a new facility.

Glosten, a Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering consultancy, announces completion of the lengthening of the R/V Connecticut, a 90-ft oceanographic research vessel operated by the University of Connecticut (UConn) Marine Sciences program.

Mark Tool and Elite Elastomers have entered into a joint venture focused on the research, development and end-use application for complete elastomeric subsea high temperature thermal insulation systems. The systems can be installed via three methods: S-Lay, J-Lay and Reel-Lay. The newly formed company has been named MTE, representing the combined strengths of Mark Tool and Elite Elastomers.

Ecosse Subsea Systems (ESS) signaled its intent to expand in 2018 with the appointment of the company’s first Engineering Manager.

iSURVEY, a leading provider of survey and positioning services to the global oil and gas, offshore renewables and telecommunications markets, has celebrated a successful end to 2017 with contract awards totalling more than £250,000.

Teledyne Marine announces that Mark Grabowski has joined the Teledyne Marine OneTeam of professionals as sales manager in the Gulf of Mexico region for their Imaging and Instruments product lines. Mark brings with him a wealth of relevant experience, having supervised and implemented a broad scope of technical marine projects for the oil and gas industry over the past 18 years.

The Norwegian company Kongsberg Maritime is one of the world's largest manufacturers of underwater technology and can look back on a long-term cooperation with GEOMAR. To further formalize this cooperation, GEOMAR’s Director Professor Peter Herzig and Bjørn Jalving, Vice-President Kongsberg Maritime Subsea, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 19 Decembe, 2017, in Kiel.

Global subsea excavation specialist James Fisher Subsea Excavation (JFSE), part of James Fisher and Sons plc, has announced the formation of a joint venture with Ocean Team Asia Pacific (OTAP), a specialist Chinese offshore project, vessel and marine equipment provider.
