OEG Renewables Acquires 23 Degrees Renewables

OEG Renewables, the newly established offshore wind focused division of the wider OEG Offshore group (OEG) announces the acquisition of 23 Degrees Renewables (23D).

23D is a nearshore and onshore power installation contractor, specializing in HVDC / HVAC and telecom submarine cable projects, often operating in difficult and remote locations, across a range of industry sectors including power transmission, renewable energy, and telecommunications.

The acquisition adds further capabilities to the newly launched OEG Renewables division and provides a key link to its existing subsea engineering capabilities to further enhance OEG Renewables’ integrated service offering in the subsea cable market.

Experienced industry professionals, Grahame Tate established 23D in 2011 with Bradley Tate joining in 2016 and has rapidly become recognized in the sector for excellence in submarine cable installation and trenching projects.

John Heiton, CEO of OEG Offshore commented, “We are delighted to acquire 23D, which we are confident will bring significant benefits to both companies and aligns with OEG Renewables’ growth strategy and developing integrated cable and subsea offering.

Grahame Tate, Managing Director of 23D adds, “The acquisition gives 23D the opportunity to offer integrated scopes of work together with the wider OEG Renewables offering and as well as strengthening our position in the UK and Europe, gives us the platform to expand worldwide. We look forward to developing new working partnerships across OEG Renewables in conjunction with the wider OEG group, primarily with the newly acquired Pelagian business.”

The firm is based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire employing approximately 100 experienced staff and maintains a pool of specialist contractors to deliver projects in the UK and Europe.
