Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo North America is Heading to Long Beach, CA, in March

Taking place March 13 & 14, 2024, at the Long Beach Convention Center in California, Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo North America is the place to discover the latest US maritime policies for the electrification and decarbonization of ports and vessels, and source the suppliers and technologies required to ensure a cleaner and safer shipping sector free from harmful emissions.

The event will combine a free-to-attend exhibition, featuring the best new tech and innovations from an array of leading global suppliers, with a dedicated conference (rates apply), where you can discover the latest projects and trends from more than 70 speakers, including major shipowners and operators, classification societies and respected academics. It will also provide instant access to US maritime policy and funding opportunities, and the new technologies critical to saving fuel, improving efficiency and reducing emissions.

Leading companies across the exhibition floor include ABB, BAE Systems, Cavotec, GE Power Conversion, Glosten, Volvo Penta and Wärtsilä.

Early exhibitor news ahead of the event includes details on a new turnkey DC grid-to-inlet charging system from Cavotec; an onshore charging station from Norwegian Electric Systems; the latest lithium-ion battery solutions from Eco Power Group; and Twin Disc’s parallel hybrid system. Visitors can also discover whole vessel solutions; for example, EV Maritime will present the EVM200 – a 24.5m, 25kts electric catamaran platform that can carry 200 passengers.

The latest US case studies

Expert insights and networking opportunities with those leading the charge toward zero emission shipping await at the dedicated conference, where organizations taking part include the American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas Marine and International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT).

Presentations will provide first-hand advice via recent case studies, including lessons from the San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority's transition to zero emission vessels, and an exclusive update on the Long Beach Container Terminal’s plans to meet its net zero goals by 2030. Meanwhile, senior management from the Port of San Diego will detail the story behind the USA’s first electric tug.
