Karen Davis, OCIMF Announced as Keynote Speaker for IMCA’s DP Conference 2023
The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has announced the keynote speaker for its Dynamic Positioning (DP) Conference 2023, which takes place in Amsterdam on 9 and 10 May.
Karen Davis, managing director of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), will share her insights and experiences with delegates, exploring collaboration, safety and the direction of industry.
The Conference is aimed at those involved in offshore energy DP operations, both renewable and oil & gas, providing an opportunity for IMCA members and the wider industry to come together to explore technical and regulatory issues in DP. The outputs from the Conference will help formulate IMCA’s work program in this space, and ensure attendees are shaping the future of our industry.
Across a highly interactive program, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in Q&A sessions and workshops, as well as hear from a range of DP experts. The full program, with details on all seven sessions across the two days, can be found on the IMCA website: www.imca-int.com/calendar/2023-imca-dp-conference
Karen Davis, managing director, OCIMF said: “I am delighted to be speaking at IMCA’s DP Conference and look forward to engaging with speakers and delegates alike at the event. Working alongside IMCA demonstrates our collective desire to collaborate on the key issues facing our ever-changing industry including the evolving vessel landscape and growth of autonomous vessels. All set against the backdrop of the people challenges we are facing in retaining talent and ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer and onboarding to safeguard safety."
Allen Leatt, CEO, IMCA, said: “We have many areas of common interest with OCIMF and their members, and we share a desire for greater industry collaboration to improve the safety and performance of our industry. We’re pleased to be welcoming Karen to our event as our keynote speaker and looking forward to exploring how we can better work together for the good of the sector.
“Challenges such as the changing vessel landscape, the growth of autonomous systems, or the recruitment and retention of talent, will only be overcome if we come together as an industry, and events such as IMCA’s DP Conference 2023 are vital to making this happen.”
The DP Conference 2023 takes place on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Steigenberger Airport Hotel, Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Tickets are available now, with discounted rates available for IMCA members, AVIs, DP Practitioners and Seagoing staff with proof of service.
