Karen Davis, OCIMF Announced as Keynote Speaker for IMCA’s DP Conference 2023

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has announced the keynote speaker for its Dynamic Positioning (DP) Conference 2023, which takes place in Amsterdam on 9 and 10 May.

Karen Davis, managing director of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), will share her insights and experiences with delegates, exploring collaboration, safety and the direction of industry.

The Conference is aimed at those involved in offshore energy DP operations, both renewable and oil & gas, providing an opportunity for IMCA members and the wider industry to come together to explore technical and regulatory issues in DP. The outputs from the Conference will help formulate IMCA’s work program in this space, and ensure attendees are shaping the future of our industry.

Across a highly interactive program, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in Q&A sessions and workshops, as well as hear from a range of DP experts. About Karen Davis, Managing Director, OCIMF

Karen is a veteran master mariner with significant experience in downstream and upstream business gained at ConocoPhillips. She spent 15 years at sea, sailing from Third Mate to Master aboard super tankers carrying crude oil and clean products.

In 2001, Karen transitioned from sailing aboard ships to their technical management, and in 2013 became ConocoPhillips’ Global Marine Assurance Manager leading a decentralised team focused on eliminating marine risk. In 2019, Karen was seconded to Qatargas Operating Company as a Limited Senior Adviser supporting OPCO and North Field Expansion Project. Karen is a member of the Green Award Foundation’s Board of Experts and was a member of the OCIMF Executive Board from 2016 to 2019.

Karen joined the Oil Companies International Marine Forum in December 2021 as Managing Director.
