Mammoet has successfully completed the load-outs of five floating wind platforms at the Navantia Fene Shipyard in Spain. The platforms will form part of the largest floating offshore wind farm in the world, Kincardine Offshore Wind Farm.

On December 8, 2021, the Danish Energy Agency announced that it will award DKK 197m to the consortium backing Project Greensand for carbon capture and storage (CCS), in support of Denmark’s ambitions to reach a 70% CO2 reduction by 2030. The Fugro-led consortium MENENS (Methanol as Energy Step Towards Emission-free Dutch Shipping) has been awarded a grant from Dutch Government’s Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) for the development of methanol as a low-carbon shipping fuel. The 22 partners in the consortium represent the complete Dutch maritime sector, from equipment suppliers, designers, shipbuilders and ship owners to Geo-data and survey specialist Fugro.
Chevron has signed an agreement with the government of Equatorial Guinea for Block EG09 – located in the Douala Basin on the border of Cameroon. Representing a notable achievement for both Chevron as it moves to increase its penetration in the Equatorial Guinean market, and the country itself in its journey towards resource maximization, the agreement grants Chevron 80% ownership with GEPetrol holding the remaining 20%.
VARD, one of the world’s major designers and shipbuilders of specialized vessels, has secured a new contract for the design and construction of one Service Operation Vessels (SOV) for North Star Group in the UK. The vessel of VARD 4 12 design will be the fourth SOV to be delivered from VARD to North Star for operation on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the North Sea.
