Foundation Center Brings the Ocean Funding Landscape into Focus
Foundation Center announces the launch of FundingTheOcean.org, a dynamic knowledge hub designed to track, inform, and inspire ocean conservation philanthropy around the world. It is a free resource aiming to level the playing field for everyone interested in saving our ocean.
Many livelihoods and communities depend on the health of the ocean, not to mention the numerous marine species that call it their home, yet its health suffers from severe threats such as overfishing, pollution, and climate change. Despite a growing ocean conservation movement, garnering attention and support from governments, philanthropists, and activists around the world, many continue to work in isolation. FundingTheOcean.org aims to break down knowledge barriers and democratize access to critical information needed to drive conservation philanthropy worldwide.
While exploring the free site, users will find:
"This is a critical moment for the ocean," said Bradford K. Smith, President of Foundation Center. "The decisions we make now will shape the ocean's future, and the future of the lives and livelihoods of those that depend on it. FundingTheOcean.org was designed to help donors and doers make the best decisions possible."
Join Foundation Center on April 18th at 12pm ET, for a public webinar with more information on how to use the site. Register here
