MMA Awarded A$5.5M Survey Contract with Marinus Link

MMA Offshore has been awarded a contract by Marinus Link Pty Ltd to acquire, integrate and interpret geotechnical data to assist with a cable route feasibility assessment for the interconnector project.

mma offshore logoMarinus Link involves approximately 255 kilometers of undersea High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable and approximately 90 kilometers of underground HVDC cable. It will also include converter stations in Tasmania and Victoria, and approximately 220 kilometers of supporting High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) transmission in North West Tasmania, known as the North West Transmission Developments.

Marinus Link is set to play a critical role in supporting the decarbonization of Australia’s economy and the country’s transition to renewable energy.

MMA has been contracted to complete the Marine Engineering Field Campaign to acquire, integrate and interpret geophysical and geotechnical data to assist with the cable route feasibility assessment and cost estimates.

The contract total amounts to a value of A$5.5M with the offshore scope planned to commence in January 2022.
