Demonstration of Live Maritime Autonomous Capabilities During 2021 IDEX

L3Harris Technologies, in collaboration with strategic partner Al Seer Marine, plans to demonstrate live maritime autonomous capabilities during the 2021 International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2021) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

L3Harris and Al Seer Marine continue to develop their partnership and will feature a more advanced Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) at IDEX 2021, outfitted with L3Harris’ ASView advanced autonomous control system, the Falcon-III RF-7800W high-capacity line-of-sight radio with advanced SMART Antenna, and the WESCAM MX™-10MS maritime electro-optical/infrared imaging system.

This USV configuration supports different maritime missions, including information, surveillance and reconnaissance, coastal patrol and interdiction missions. The Al Seer Marine USV can operate in a fully autonomous mode, including COLREG's aware collision avoidance, navigating the waterways at speeds of 40+ knots and can be remotely piloted from an onshore or ship-based ground control station.
