Sustainable Marine Energy (SME) will supply three next generation PLAT-I floating tidal energy systems, with a rated power output of 420kW each, to project entity Spicer Marine Energy who has signed a Design Build and Operate (DBO) agreement with reconcept GmbH for the first phase of the Pempa’q In-stream Tidal Energy Project.

The University of Maine will collaborate with New England Aqua Ventus, LLC (NEAV), a joint venture between Diamond Offshore Wind, a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Corporation, and RWE Renewables, the second largest company in offshore wind globally, to develop UMaine’s floating offshore wind technology demonstration project off the coast of Maine.
The location has been chosen to support CorPower’s flagship demonstration project HiWave-5, and for the long-term development of supply and service capacity for commercial wave energy farms.

Based on preliminary estimates the proven reserves are between 3 and 10 million standard cubic meters of recoverable oil equivalent, corresponding to 19-63 million barrels of oil equivalent.
