Minesto, a leading ocean energy developer, has announces that for three months, since its initial installation in February 2024, the tidal kite Dragon 12 has been successfully grid connected and delivers as expected at the site in Vestmanna. In addition, for the first time, an array of tidal kites is in operation – the 1.2 MW D12 and one 100kW D4, adding valuable production data for array build-out. The data being generated underlines commercial readiness of Dragon Class systems and the continued testing supports both critical sales activities and preparations for product delivery.
Tokyu Land Corporation and SolarDuck B.V. (SolarDuck), in collaboration with Kyocera Communication Systems Corporation, have completed the installation of Japan's first offshore floating solar photovoltaic (OFPV) power plant on the sea surface under the Tokyo Bay eSG Project, an initiative of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Policy Planning Bureau.
Global offshore player RWE and the Swedish Port of Karlshamn have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The aim of this collaboration is to explore whether Port of Karlshamn could be a suitable harbor for the logistics, installation, operations and maintenance activities relating to RWE’s planned offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea. In a first step, the partners will map the requirements and necessary build outs and investments to facilitate the scaling-up of the port’s capacity. An early implementation of port capacity will ensure that Sweden is well placed to maximize the potential of the offshore wind industry. This collaboration demonstrates a clear commitment to share knowledge and expertise, in support of broader industrial growth in Sweden.
