Kraken Robotics Inc. (Kraken) announces that effective April 23, Peter A. Hunter has been appointed Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Hunter joined Kraken’s Board in November of 2023 and is the founder, Chairman, and Managing Partner of Artemis Capital Partners, L.P., a Boston-based specialized private equity firm focused on differentiated industrial technology manufacturers.

Damen Shipyards Group is launching a pilot project in which a small tug will be dismantled at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam’s Botlek site in a circular way and entirely in line with the EU regulations. The project will serve as a trial, after which this approach of ‘green’ ship dismantling and recycling will be made available commercially, and also for larger vessels.

Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) and Dakota Creek Industries (DCI) have delivered a state-of-the-art oil spill response barge for operation in the coastal waters of Alaska. The barge, named ALLISON CREEK, is specifically designed to meet the rigorous requirements in Prince William Sound. ALLISON CREEK has a capacity of 13,600 barrels, an overall length of 200', beam of 42', depth of 16' and is outfitted with a deck crane and on-deck houses to store emergency response equipment.

OEG Energy Group Limited (OEG) a leading offshore solutions business, is pleased to announce that OEG Renewable Energy Inc (OEGR) has signed a multi-year framework agreement with Ørsted for their Northeastern US offshore wind projects. The multi-year agreement gives OEGR’s topside division exclusivity for all temporary power scopes Ørsted have during commissioning on their projects.

The National Ocean Industries Association announces that LLOG and SLB are winners of the 2024 NOIA Safety in Seas Award Competition. LLOG is the Culture of Safety winner while SLB won the Safety Practice award.

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Board of Directors has elected Jonathan Landes, President, Subsea of TechnipFMC, as the NOIA Chair for the 2024-2025 term. Joe Leimkuhler, Chief Operating Officer of Beacon Offshore Energy, was elected as the 2024-2025 Vice Chair. Jon and Joe were confirmed in their positions during the NOIA Board of Directors meeting this morning. In a separate press release, NOIA announced the Executive Committee and Board of Directors positions for the 2024-2025 term.
