Global Marine, a leading provider of subsea fiber optic cable installation and maintenance solutions to the telecommunications sector, and part of the Global Marine Group, has been awarded a contract extension of SEAIOCMA (Southeast Asia and Indian Ocean Cable Maintenance Agreement) for another five years, running until 31st December 2025.

NKT Completes Offshore Repair of the BritNed Interconnector

NKT has successfully completed the second repair operation this year on the important cable connection BritNed located in the sea north of the Strait of Dover connecting the UK with the Netherlands. For NKT, the repair operation turned into some creative engineering and craftmanship due to the nature of the repair requiring repair and re-configuration of the cable system on the seabed.

CRP Subsea Awarded Contract by Ørsted to Provide NjordGuard Cable Protection

CRP Subsea (formerly Trelleborg Offshore UK) has been awarded two contracts by Ørsted to provide NjordGuard, a cable protection system, for the Borkum Riffgrund 3 and Gode Wind 3 offshore windfarms to be located in the German North Sea. CRP Subsea will provide 223 NjordGuard monopile entry cable protection systems, which will protect all the array cables on both projects.

Prysmian Awarded Major Contract to Connect Asia and Europe

Prysmian Group has been awarded a contract worth a total of around €140 million by the Turkish utility TEIAS for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of two high-voltage submarine power cable links, one between Europe and Asia, the other across the Izmit Gulf in Asia. The official contract signing ceremony is expected within June, followed by an immediate notice to proceed. The completion of both contracts is expected by 2023.
