Pemamek Forms Strategic Partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation Technos

Pemamek Ltd., the Finnish welding automation company, has announced a strategic partnership with Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation Technos, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. As one of the largest companies in Japan, Mitsubishi Corporation Technos is renowned for its technological expertise in various industries, including clean energy, transportation equipment, shipbuilding, and sheet metal.
"In Japan, the offshore wind industry is growing rapidly. The highly advanced welding technology, in-house software, and extensive expertise were some of the reasons why we wanted to establish a collaboration with Pemamek. In the shipbuilding production automation industry, PEMA is the world's best-known solution brand, and we wanted to partner with them in that industry as well. As a trusted technology partner, we aim to collaborate with the best companies to provide added value for our clients", stated Yuji Kiya, Senior Manager and Project Manager, Offshore Wind Project Office Industrial Machinery Division, Mitsubishi Corporation Technos.
"With this partnership, we aim to accelerate the growth of offshore wind energy markets and introduce well-known PEMA shipyard automation technology to Japanese markets. Together with Mitsubishi Corporation Technos, we can expand our coverage and create new possibilities for PEMA welding and production automation solutions," said Jaakko Heikonen, Pemamek’s Vice Chairman of the Board.
The partnership between the companies began in early 2021 and has already yielded results, with Pemamek successfully selling state-of-the-art production lines for monopile and wind tower manufacturing in Japan.
