Boston-based Sea Machines Robotics, a leading developer of autonomous command and control systems for surface vessels, has partnered with Castine-based Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) and representatives of the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD)’s Maritime Environmental and Technical Assistance (META) Program to bring valuable, hands-on education about autonomous marine systems into the MMA curriculum.
JDR, a global subsea cable supplier and servicer owned by the TFKable Group, has begun construction of a new US headquarters in Tomball, Texas, a part of the Houston metropolitan area. The building will consolidate three of JDR’s existing facilities in the region to expand its IWOCs rental business to support current demand.
The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Board of Directors approved Talos Energy founder, President and CEO Tim Duncan as the NOIA Vice Chairman. Tim will join NOIA Chairman and Halliburton Vice President Industry Relations Galen Cobb as a NOIA National Officer. Galen has been the NOIA Chairman since April 2020.
Nominations are now being accepted for the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) 2020 Awards program. IMCA launched its Awards program in 2018 to recognize the activities of its Members in the areas of Safety and Environmental Sustainability. This year they are including a special COVID-19 category.
