Offshore engineering consultancy SLPE has been awarded the wind turbine generator (WTG) foundation detailed design contract for Red Rock Power Limited and ESB’s Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm.

The Research Council of Norway has announced that two new national petroleum centers will receive state funding, following a decision in the Portfolio Board for Petroleum.

On December 8, 2021, the Danish Energy Agency announced that it will award DKK 197m to the consortium backing Project Greensand for carbon capture and storage (CCS), in support of Denmark’s ambitions to reach a 70% CO2 reduction by 2030. The Greensand consortium is led by INEOS and includes Maersk Drilling as the project’s preferred drilling contractor among the 29 partners in total.

The Fugro-led consortium MENENS (Methanol as Energy Step Towards Emission-free Dutch Shipping) has been awarded a grant from Dutch Government’s Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) for the development of methanol as a low-carbon shipping fuel. The 22 partners in the consortium represent the complete Dutch maritime sector, from equipment suppliers, designers, shipbuilders and ship owners to Geo-data and survey specialist Fugro.

Chevron has signed an agreement with the government of Equatorial Guinea for Block EG09 – located in the Douala Basin on the border of Cameroon. Representing a notable achievement for both Chevron as it moves to increase its penetration in the Equatorial Guinean market, and the country itself in its journey towards resource maximization, the agreement grants Chevron 80% ownership with GEPetrol holding the remaining 20%.

VARD, one of the world’s major designers and shipbuilders of specialized vessels, has secured a new contract for the design and construction of one Service Operation Vessels (SOV) for North Star Group in the UK. The vessel of VARD 4 12 design will be the fourth SOV to be delivered from VARD to North Star for operation on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the North Sea.

Wärtsilä will supply the seven thrusters required for a new Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) being built at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine yard in South Korea for Eneti Inc.

Future Proof Shipping (FPS) has signed a long-term agreement with Air Liquide (AL) for the supply of carbon-free hydrogen to their inland container vessel, FPS Maas, which is transporting containers between the Netherlands and Belgium.

Technip Energies has been awarded a contract by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to update the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Ghasha mega project including accelerating the integration of carbon capture into the development.

Equinor has entered into an agreement to acquire all of Spirit Energy’s production licenses in the Statfjord area which spreads across the Norwegian and UK Continental Shelves and are developed by three integrated production platforms (Statfjord A, B, C). All licenses are operated by Equinor.
