Omexom Offshore to Manage Technical Development for WATERKANT Offshore Wind Project

Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore is supporting the WATERKANT offshore wind farm in the North Sea with its technical expertise. The team from the business unit Offshore Projects was recently awarded the contract by Luxcara, a sustainable energy infrastructure asset manager, for the technical planning and coordination of the WATERKANT offshore wind farm. The wind farm will be built approximately 90 kilometers off the island of Borkum and will provide a total capacity of 270+ MW. Operations are scheduled to commence in 2028.

Over the course of the coming years, Omexom Offshore will support and coordinate the project planning and development as a technical consultant. The initial focus will lie on the comprehensive regulatory approval steps necessary for the construction of the wind farm, as well as tenders for the main trades. A key milestone for the team will be obtaining planning permission for the WATERKANT project and awarding the contracts for all the main trades.
