TSIC strengthens connectivity in Western Africa

TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) and Angola Cables today announces a IP Transit agreement that will enhance regional connectivity to TSIC’s customer base along the West African coast using Angola Cables’ significant submarine cable assets.

The enhanced regional access in Angola will greatly improve internet performance as well as reduce transport costs for global internet connectivity to Western Africa.

“Angola is one of the fastest developing economies on the continent and has the potential to become the leading telecoms and technology hub for Africa. This latest deal is one more step towards realizing the vision of making Angola one more African telecommunications hub” says Antonio Nunes, CEO Angola Cables.

Under the agreement, facilitated by pre-sales and fiber consulting agency, AP Telecom, Angola Cables will invest in high performance infrastructure which will help address a burgeoning demand for internet access across the African continent.

“We are very pleased to further increase global-local connectivity in Western Africa by welcoming Angola Cables on board and to jointly strengthen high performance internet access in the region.” says Christoph Lannert, Director Channel Management in TSIC.

Ranked one of the top two global IP backbone providers by Internet intelligence authority Renesys, TSIC continuously upholds its commitment to providing a fast, high-quality experience and reliable, always-on connectivity anywhere.
