DeepSea Power & Light is a global supplier of underwater lights, cameras, lasers, pressure relief valves, and power systems. Founded in 1983, they develop high-quality and innovative products to the oceanographic community.
Their versatile product line meets design criteria for ease of service, reliability, high performance, and cost effectiveness. They demonstrate their investment to testing and qualifying new product designs with an in-house optics lab, pressure testing facility, integrating sphere, and a test site in the San Diego bay for in-situ equipment analysis. Partnership with a wide variety of operators gives DeepSea Power & Light insight into the market and how they can push the boundaries with imaging and lighting products.
Autonomous and Remote Operated Vehicles use DeepSea Power & Light products for a variety of applications in the harshest environments, from offshore oil fields to oceanographic exploration. Examples include the Titanic Expeditions, Bismark Expedition group, National Geographic Society, WHOI, Lockheed, Oceaneering, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and deep diving submersibles such as Alvin, Sea Cliff, Jason, Turtle, Nautile, Mirs I & II, Kaiko, and the Shinkai 6500. Their products have also been used to photograph and produce documentaries of the Edmund, Fitzgerald, Lusitania, Iron Bottom Sound, and the Galapagos Islands.
DeepSea Power & Light Seacam® cameras include IP, 4K UHD, HD, and analog video outputs. Common features include sapphire ports and wide angle optics. The configuration options and capabilities for certain models include a wide field of view up to 150° full HD resolutions, optical zoom, h.264 and h.265 compression. Many models are available with a titanium housing for long-term immersion and corrosion resistance, and select models have full ocean depth rating option.
SeaLite® luminaires have up to 10,000 lumens, and many have full dimming capabilities for a variety of subsea applications. The LED SeaLite® offers SeaSense™ Serial Protocol and Multiray: a compelling technology that enables a single luminaire to separately operate two LED and beam pattern configurations. A titanium housing and full ocean depth rating option are available on select models.
Other products include the SeaBattery™ Power Module, a lead acid battery rated to full ocean depth; SeaLaser® subsea lasers, available with line or dot outputs; and SeaVent® pressure relief valves with adjustable cracking pressure and vacuum attachment options.
In addition to their product line, DeepSea Power & Light makes their hydrostatic pressure testing chambers and optical lab available for testing equipment. Their pressure test chambers range can test up to 30,000 psi, and the gauges are calibrated annually to ensure accuracy. Long-duration holds and repeated cyclical testing capabilities are available along with feed-through options and adapters to meet customer testing needs.
