WOC Co-Organizing Workshop on "Enhancing Maritime Resource Security: A Cross-sectoral Dialogue for the Gulf of Thailand" (Singapore, 12-14 August 2014)
The WOC and the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) are convening a workshop to enhance understanding and cooperation between industry, the coast guards, and related marine resource agencies from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia.
Governmental participants will be senior officials from maritime law enforcement, environmental, fisheries, coastal development, trade and transport agencies across the Gulf of Thailand. They will be joined by private sector counterparts and subject experts to strategically discuss marine resource and environment security cooperation in the region.
There is only space for 12 industry representatives from the Gulf of Thailand region at this unique workshop on "Enhancing Maritime Resource Security: A Cross-sectoral Dialogue for the Gulf of Thailand" (Singapore, 12-14 August 2014).
Preference will be given to WOC Members and to companies that are qualified and able to prepare short overview presentations on the key maritime sectors in the Gulf of Thailand. These sectors include, but are not limited to: oil/gas, shipping, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, submarine cable.
There is no cost to participate in the WOC-APCSS workshop, but companies must register their interest.
The day before the workshop, the WOC will hold a "Briefing Seminar" for companies interested in learning more about the WOC and meeting WOC Members (Singapore, 11 August 2014).
There is no cost to participate in the 2-3 hour WOC Briefing Seminar, but companies must register their interest using the registration form.
