Ocean College, Zhejiang University and Together Expo Ltd jointly announces the launch of OceanTech Program (OT 2019), which will be held May 16-18, at a news briefing at Landmark Hotel, Beijing.
OceanTech Program (OT 2019), an extension from a biennial conference OceanTech International Symposium held in the Zhoushan Campus of Zhejiang University is an umbrella program that unfurls into an exhibition, co-located conferences, technical seminars, workshops, and live demonstrations.
According to the organizers, OceanTech International Symposium is the fourth succession to the National Ocean Technology Conference, organized also by Zhejiang University , where 500 leading academicians and experts in the ocean technology sector, meet in China’s leading marine cluster to exchange know-how and to discuss the latest trends, R&D and applications. “By adding an exhibition to the rebranded conference, showcasing the latest technology, OT 2019 further reflects the organizers’ commitment to promote China’s initiatives to strengthen the nation’s oceanic capabilities.” Said Sandra Pang, General Manager, Together Expo Ltd.
To facilitate sharing and networking, international institutions will be invited to organize co-locating conferences and seminars, while equipment suppliers are encouraged to set up user training workshops and live demos to illustrate the latest technical updates. Also integral to the OT 2019, a guided tour will be hosted for international delegates to visit some of the most important ocean facilities in Zhoushan.
Zhejiang University’s Zhoushan Campus is best positioned to realize the new potentials of the expanded project. “With the natural, industrial and commercial resources in a Nationally designated blue economy cluster, combined with the capacities of a world renown institution and exemplified by three editions of a flagship conference attended by leading figures nation-wide, we have found no better venue for OT 2019!” Pang said.
“OT 2019 will be an international showcase of the latest technologies and live demos, conceived and realized by China’s own ocean community.” Observed Fang Li, CEO of Laurel Technologies, OT 2019’s Founding Sponsor. The company is a leading distributor of cutting edge geophysical and oceanographic equipment.
