Sparrows Group Becomes Authorized Service Center for Linde Hydraulics in the US

Sparrows Group has become an authorized service center for Linde Hydraulics products in the USA, accelerating the business’ continued growth in the industrial and marine sectors.

The authorization will see the specialist engineering and maintenance company service, repair and test Linde’s hydraulic components as one of four Linde Service Centers in the USA, and the only one in the US Gulf Coast area.

Linde, a leading technology provider of high-pressure hydraulics, currently employs 1,400 people at six production sites and is represented in more than 50 countries globally. The company designs and produces a range of hydraulic equipment which is used in the agriculture, forestry, marine and mining industries.

Sparrows will deliver repairs, servicing and testing across the Linde hydraulic product line from its Slidell, Louisiana workshop. This includes equipment such as pumps and motors, valves and hydrostatic drives, following training on the products and systems delivered by Linde. The Slidell facility secured the status after demonstrating it could meet Linde Hydraulics’ strict conditions of service and quality and will also maintain a products and service parts inventory for Linde manufactured components.

Stewart Mitchell, chief executive officer of Sparrows said: “Achieving this status with Linde Hydraulics is a key milestone in our long-term growth strategy to diversify into new sectors. Our teams’ experience and consistent high quality of work will deliver the exacting standards that Linde’s customers expect.

“We’ve been working in the US industrial sector since 2017, this agreement underpins the reputation we have built and demonstrates how we can transfer our expertise and capability to the marine and industrial sectors.

“We have worked for many years with marine customers and know that there is demand for repair and servicing of these components. Our new service center status assures vessel owners that work is being carried out to OEM standards, so we are confident that we will see further growth from the sector.”

John Kumler, President of Linde Hydraulics said: “We’re looking forward to working closely with the Sparrows team as one of our authorized service centers. They have a proven track record in delivering excellent customer service and we know they will maintain high standards for our customers in the US Gulf Coast region.”
