NOAA has selected Arthur John “A.J.” Reiss, as the director of NOAA’s Ocean Prediction Center (OPC) in College Park, Maryland. OPC provides the world’s best marine forecasts and critical decision support services for mariners, ensuring the safety of lives and vessels at sea by alerting to hazards like hurricane-force winds and high seas.
The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) appointed and approved the 2020-21 term of the NOIA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. There are 12 new members on the Board of Directors and three new members on the Executive Committee:
Delmar Systems, Inc. successfully completed the 200th mooring line release using RAR Plus Releasable Mooring System (RMS) during Equinor’s Barents Sea drilling campaign utilizing Odfjell’s Deepsea Atlantic semi-submersible drilling rig. The rig disconnection was performed in less than an hour and half without assistance from an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel.
