DNV Becomes Corporate Partner of Coast Guard Mutual Assistance

Senior representatives of Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) and DNV gathered virtually to commemorate DNV becoming a corporate partner of the independent non-profit charitable organization.

DNV’s partnership to the organization is accompanied with a monetary contribution.

Rear Admiral Cari B. Thomas, USCG Ret and CGMA Executive Director, stated that, “Since 1924, the mission of Coast Guard Mutual Assistance is unchanged—to help members of the Coast Guard family in their time of financial need and position themselves for resilience in the future. With the uncertainty of the pandemic, they are feeling that need now more than ever. DNV’s gift makes a difference in the lives of the 135,000+ Coast Guard community members that we serve.”

DNV has been operating in the United States for more than 123 years and, during that time, has formed a strong and broad partnership with the USCG. The purpose of the two organizations are closely aligned, both being founded on the safety, security, and stewardship within the maritime industry, with focus on safeguarding life, property, and the environment.

The Vision of DNV is to be a trusted voice to tackle global transformations and the company recognizes that people are at the core of these efforts. “As an organization, we strive to live our values; ‘We Care, We Dare, We Share’,” said Antony DSouza, Executive Vice President and Regional Manager for Americas, Maritime at DNV. “Our industry is a people’s industry, and we believe strongly in the humanitarian efforts that support the people who allow the maritime industry to thrive. It is an honor for us to partner with CGMA and to support their great efforts benefiting the men and women of the USCG and their families.”
