Benthic Appoints New Chairman

Houston, January 7, 2016 - Benthic, a global geosciences company, has announced the appointment of Chris Braithwaite as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Russell Staley, who has served as Benthic’s interim Chairman following the resignation of the late John Smith in August of 2015, remains on the Board as a Director.

Allied to that is a fast developing range of geotechnical and geophysical capability. I realize that times are tough in the oil & gas business right now, but it is clear that Benthic is well placed and has a great future. Benthic has an impressive track record and even in these times, the opportunities are very significant.”

Mr. Braithwaite’s 30 year career in project management, engineering and manufacturing businesses include many board and leadership roles in the service sector of the oil & gas industry. He has extensive international experience creating and implementing innovative growth strategies and has led global businesses ranging from 50 to 2,000 people. In late 2004, Chris joined Wellstream International and played a critical role the successful IPO in 2007.

Chris currently holds roles as the Non-Executive Chairman of Ashtead Technology, Non-Executive Director of Signum Technology and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ampelmann.
