Seatools Equips Boskalis with Plough Position Monitoring Buoy

On behalf of its client Boskalis, subsea technology company Seatools completed the development, manufacturing and testing of a plough position monitoring buoy. After successful sea trials, the buoy is now being deployed for a subsea cable route clearance project, where the buoy has been fitted onto a subsea plough.

Rotech Subsea Makes Donation to RNLI Wick Lifeboat Station

Aberdeen-based Subsea excavation company, Rotech Subsea, has donated £1,500 to the RNLI Wick Lifeboat Station. Established in 1848, Wick Lifeboat Station in the far north of Scotland operates an all-weather Trent class lifeboat. Crew members have been recognized by the RNLI for their lifesaving achievements 11 times.

DOE and U.S. Navy to Test C-Power’s SeaRAY Autonomous Offshore Power System

Columbia Power Technologies, Inc. (C-Power) announces it will commence six-month sea trials in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Navy to test and validate the technical and economic capabilities of C-Power’s SeaRAY autonomous offshore power system (AOPS).

Novel Solution for Diverless Hull Inspections

Nippon Paint Marine has developed a novel hull inspection tool that negates the need for divers or remotely operated vehicles. The underwater inspection of a ship’s hull coating can now be performed by a single inspector on dry land or from a boat.
