U.S. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer M. Granholm, and EU Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, will co-lead the 2022 U.S.-EU Energy Council High-Level Business Forum on Offshore Wind Energy, held in conjunction with the 2022 International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum (IPF) in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The U.S.-EU Energy Council is the lead transatlantic coordination forum on strategic energy issues.
At the Nor-Shipping trade fair, DNV presented Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers (KNCC) with an Approval in Principle (AiP) for their new PCO2 tank system for the transportation of liquefied CO2 (LCO2). KNCC is a new joint venture company established by the Knutsen Group and the NYK Group to provide CO2 transportation and storage solutions. Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, DNV Maritime CEO, presented the AiP to Trygve Seglem, owner of Knutsen and Vice Chair of KNCC, President and Chief Executive Officer of NYK Group Europe Ltd., Svein Steimler, Managing Executive Officer of NYK Line and Chair of KNCC, Anders Lepsøe, CEO of KNCC, and Per Lothe, the Technical Advisor in KNCC.
Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV M&O) and Korean Register (KR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at cooperation and relations to enhance competences and capacity by sharing of technologies, information and experiences in the field of floating offshore wind farms in the East Sea of Republic of Korea.
New Fortress Energy Inc., (NFE), together with its affiliates, has announced that it has concurrently filed applications with the U.S. Maritime Administration, the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Department of Energy to request all necessary permits and regulatory approvals to site, construct and operate a new offshore LNG liquefaction terminal off the coast of Louisiana (“the Project”) with a capacity of exporting approximately 145 billion cubic feet of natural gas per year, equivalent to approximately 2.8 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG.
