Floating wind will play an important role in decarbonizing the global energy system, contributing 2% of the world’s power supply by 2050, but more comprehensive industry standards and risk management is required for the technology to scale.

A flagship report published by the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry finds that the UK’s carbon emissions fell by an estimated 10.3 percent this year, as the economy contracted by 11.3 percent.
