Prysmian Group Returns to the Submarine Optical Cable Business

Prysmian Group, a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, through its submarine telecom division NSW, will showcase for the first time, after the merger with General Cable, its state-of-the-art range of products and services for the submarine telecommunication cable industry at the 2019 edition of SubOptic exhibition, that will take place in New Orleans from April 8 to 11 (Booth 609 & 610, New Orleans Marriott - New Orleans, USA).

SubOptic 2019 will be a great opportunity for the Group to showcase its broadened range of products and services after the acquisition of General Cable, strengthening its position in the market as a one-stop-shop supplier for the whole submarine telecommunication cable industry. The Group’s product range on display at the exhibition will include repeatered and repeaterless cable systems, complete project management solutions, as well as repair and submarine cable maintenance services to ensure optimal availability and reliability of these systems.

Special focus will be dedicated to the new NSW MINISUB® 0.6 cable family, a rugged, compact fiber-optic submarine repeatered cable with unique features, such as high count of 32 powerful ITU-T G.654.D fibers, low conductor resistance of 0.6 Ω/km, installation in water depths up to 8,000 m and extraordinary operating voltage of 15 kV DC.

The Group can call on full expertise in submarine telecommunication connections and an extended ability to offer turnkey products and services (including design, manufacture and installation).
