Kongsberg Launches New Color Patz Cameras

Kongsberg Maritime has launched two new Color Pan and Tilt Zoom (PATZ) cameras. The OE14-222 (PAL) and OE14-223 (NTSC) underwater CCD color cameras provide completely enclosed pan, tilt and zoom functionality. KONGSBERG’s new cameras support a wide range of applications including, observational and situational awareness tasks, close proximity inspection, process monitoring, marine science applications and manned submersible deployment.

A development of the well-proven Kongsberg Maritime OE14-122/3 PATZ camera platform, the OE14-222/3 cameras have been upgraded using the latest technology, giving the operator a host of real world advantages, such as; removing the 45 second calibration delay during initialization, greatly improved resistance to shock and vibration, greater range of head movement on both axes, integrated LED lighting as standard, greater head stability including slow speed pan and tilt control and a more user friendly experience through the use of a new Graphic User Interface (GUI). The cameras can be used in restricted spaces without fear of fouling or in a multi-role environment when a camera is required to address multiple tasks. Close up inspection capability is obtained by using a 10x zoom for powerful long-range viewing.

OE14-222/3 cameras have a compact and robust head assembly which neatly integrates a 10x optical zoom lens and ¼” CCD sensor, giving excellent light sensitivity and image definition. When used with the GUI provided, the operator has the ability to control the cameras’ many functions including pan, tilt, focus, zoom and iris aperture settings, control of the integrated LED lighting and activating the on screen display, which allows the overlay of time, date and positional data onto the video image. The GUI also enables network functions such as the ability to control a series of cameras in a multi drop arrangement and ID assignation.

OE14-222/3 cameras are compatible with the unique Kongsberg Maritime IR remote control, which allows long line drive to be set, LED lighting to be switched on or off and camera control options selected without risking damage to the integrity of housing seals. A humidity sensor with a visual alarm to warn of excessive moisture levels is installed. A 2,000 msw model is available for the smaller payload ROV.

Importantly for existing customers the OE14-222/3 cameras share the same form factor and mounting arrangement, enabling them to be used as drop in replacements for the outgoing OE14-122/3 cameras.

“We have already received strong interest in our new color PATZ cameras. With several new features and an overall more robust design, we expect the OE14-222/3 cameras to be a popular addition to our range,” said Mark Esslemont, Sales Manager (Cameras), Kongsberg Maritime, Kongsberg Maritime.
