Reflex Marine to Host US Frog-XT4 Launch at NASA

Reflex Marine, a global leader in safe marine transfer solutions to the offshore, marine and renewables industries, is bringing the latest addition to its revolutionary product range to the US market at an event at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
The capabilities of the company’s industry-leading FROG-XT4 will be subjected to a rigorous testing process against the impressive backdrop of the NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory.
The event is being held in response to increasing demand from operators within the region.
Attendees will see the FROG-XT4 being put through its paces in a series of demonstrations including immersion testing, self-righting testing, conversion to MedEvac mode.
An estimated one million safe crew transfers are carried out every year using the Reflex Marine’s FROG and TORO devices.
The FROG-XT4 was developed in line with the industry’s continued drive to improve the safety of its operations – a vision which Reflex Marine shares.
Improvements to every aspect of capsule design have resulted in greater comfort and safety to passengers, wider operating parameters and higher capacity transfers. Sales Manager Grant Wintle commented: “Many of the design changes make the FROG-XT4 even more applicable to the US market. The new saddle seats enable passengers to adopt a semi-seated position. This feels like a brace position on a stand-up basket which is something we believe US crews will be more comfortable with.
“Increased weight capacity and additional seating provide operators with increased flexibility. The new stretcher mounting system makes the device capable of being deployed quicker in medical evacuation situations (MedEvac), a crucial feature in emergency scenarios.”
Despite only having been released to market in recent weeks demand has been high with several devices have already been dispatched to a number of major oil operators. Reflex Marine is set to replace the remaining FROG range with the brand new XT range later this year.
Following the demonstration Mr Wintle will deliver a presentation focusing on improvements in the safety, performance and ownership experience of the new FROG-XT range. He will also share Reflex Marine’s expertise and experience on the associated risks relating to crane transfer risk including where incidents happen and the root causes.
