Fugro Innovations Recognized at the 2014 Arctic Technology Conference

Organizers of the Arctic Technology Conference (ATC) have announced Fugro as the recipient of two 2014 Spotlight on Arctic Technology Awards.

The company is being recognized for its integrated 3D iceberg mapping technique, which defines complex iceberg properties using high precision subsea imaging systems and above-water imaging techniques. The approach and technology will be integral to future ice engineering, as well as ongoing ice management and risk mitigation measures for fixed and mobile platforms in Arctic settings. The other award is for Fugro's GeoSAR sea ice mapping system which is mounted on a Gulfstream II jet aircraft. Acquiring sea ice data over very large areas, the system produces sea ice mapping deliverables enabling the mitigation of high risk ice floes from fixed locations in the Arctic.

The technologies being highlighted by ATC reinforce that commitment, and our ability to generate positive outcomes during offshore exploration, development, and production."

The Spotlight Awards were presented at ATC on Monday, February 10, during an evening reception at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
