thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel has received the largest ever order from Siemens Energy for bluemint^® powercore^® to equip around 700 transformers in offshore wind turbines from its wind business Siemens Gamesa—a record order for thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel. The two frontrunners in decarbonization intend to lead the decarbonization of the electricity industry and as well to secure capacity of CO2-reduced steel, enabling a resilient and sustainable supply chain for the energy transition.

CGG has announced the release of a Southeast Asia Carbon Storage Study to support and accelerate the screening process for all players in the region’s fast-growing CCUS market. This study ranks and prioritizes opportunities at large scale across 58 basins in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, covering a total surface area of over six million km², to help streamline the process for identifying the best basins and plays for potential carbon storage. RWE Offshore wind (RWE), a global leading player in offshore wind, and Smart Wires, global grid enhancing technologies and services provider, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on investigating the use of advanced power flow control technology, SmartValve™, on long High Voltage Alternating Current and Direct Current (HVAC or HVDC) cable circuits to support offshore generation connections. The investigation will focus on acceleration and minimization of the need for additional onshore and offshore grid infrastructure.

Cadeler has signed a contract with Ørsted and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) for the transport and installation of 14 MW Wind Turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. Baltica 2 is one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. PGE and Ørsted plan to deliver Baltica 2 of 1.5 GW capacity by the end of 2027. The contract underlines Cadeler’s strong entry into the Polish market.

Seatrium Limited (Seatrium) is pleased to announce that it has received notification from TenneT TSO B.V. (TenneT) that it plans to commence work on the third 2-gigawatt (GW) High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) electrical transmission system on June 1, 2024.

RWE's Kaskasi offshore wind farm will supply seven major German industrial customers with green electricity from 2026. Corresponding Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) have been signed between RWE Supply & Trading and DHL Group, Ensinger, Evonik, Infraserv Höchst, thyssenkrupp Steel Europe and Vodafone; a first PPA from Kaskasi has already been signed with the retail divisions of the Schwarz Group (Lidl, Kaufland) in spring 2023.
