Offshore Survey 2015 Calls for Papers

Offshore Survey, which takes place from 15 - 16 April 2015 alongside Ocean Business at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton UK, announces a call for papers.

Offshore Survey provides a unique mix of global technology and business from all corners of the industry. With this in mind it offers the perfect platform to share cutting edge information with an international audience, and the committee welcomes submissions suitable for sessions on: Subsea Positioning, Advanced Survey Techniques, Survey Operations, Data Processing and Visualisation, and Industry and Professional Issues. All papers will be evaluated by a technical committee of experts from industry and academia. Abstracts can be submitted online at: www.offshoresurvey.co.uk before 3rd November 2014.

Conference Chairman, Ed Danson, International Sales Manager of C-Nav Group, explains; “Offshore Survey has become the biennial industry and professional event. As a result it has earned a reputation for attracting the very best papers and presenters from across the industry and the profession. The call for papers for next year's conference is out and I encourage everyone, young and not-so-young to submit their synopsis. It's a wonderful and unique opportunity to present to the world what you and your colleagues have achieved.

”Working in partnership with Offshore Survey, the Hydrographic Society will be directly involved in providing session chairs and will form a key part of the technical committee to ensure an outstanding event. 2013 was the first time the conference operated a call for papers, rather than an invitation-only approach, and it received an overwhelming response. With such positive feedback, it was a natural choice to follow the same route, as well as to retain the same successful conference format for the 2015 event. The full details of the conference will be revealed in the programme at the end of the year.

One of the special attractions of Offshore Survey is that it runs alongside the Ocean Business exhibition, which provides a high calibre mix of technology and business for the delegates. As in previous years, the show will include a full three-day programme of hands-on training and demonstration workshops, enabling buyers to actually test drive equipment before purchasing. Ocean Careers will also run over the three days to provide advice on career opportunities within the ocean technology, marine science and offshore industries. As always, the combined events bring a lively social programme, culminating in a gala dinner, held at Southampton’s Guildhall on 15th April.
